FROM SPONSOR TO STUDENT . . . sponsors Sharon Cook, Will Chambers, Kelly Adeville and Troy Urquhart have jackets for PASS Program participants Felicita Hunter, Brandon McGilvary, Robert deMaine and Zoe Santo.
PARTICIPANTS in the PASS Program had the chance to spend time with a leading NRL player during his trip to Charters Towers.
Melbourne Storm centre Will Chambers visited the gold city thanks to the organisation of FOGS — Former Origin Greats — who are partners in the program.
An indigenous player, Chambers is an outside back who comes from Gove in the Northern Territory.
FOGS representative Peter Falcon-Green joined Chambers in Charters Towers for the trip.
He said the pair were present to help the PASS Program participants and provide them with more information about careers in sport and also some incentives.
Mr Falcon-Green said FOGS’ involvement was about rewards and incentives to keep the students involved in the program.
PASS achieves its mission by conducting sports and games programs at schools; by training a network of coaches who are also still at school; and by supporting schools in conducting their own sports and physical activities.
The visit coincided with the handing over of another incentive prize — tracksuit jackets.
FOGS donated shirts to the students when they signed on and local businesses sponsored the donation of the jackets.
